An interview with Trayvon's stepmother

Trayvon Martin, a name that’s been heard, chanted, written about, tweeted and posted over 2 million times in the past weeks. Martin, who was visiting a gated community in Sanford, Fla., was shot and killed Feb. 26 by George Zimmerman on his way back from 7/11. Since then, the shooting has caused an uproar around the nation. SNN recently got the opportunity to speak with Trayvon’s stepmother, Alicia Martin, who raised him for 15 years.

College Decision Day is today and several special events are planned. This is the day seniors commit to the college that they believe is best for them. To celebrate the day, there will be a door decoration contest. Teachers will choose a team of students to decorate their door, representing their alma mater. The winning team will be treated to lunch. In addition, students will be able to wear college t-shirts and principal Bob Vicari will be making special college acceptance announcements. There will also be a poster contest and a pep rally at lunchtime in the courtyard with music, giveaways and more.

If you want to have a say on what music is played at prom, go write some songs suggestion on the bulletin board in student services.

Seniors stop by B104 to get their senior packets with all the information on upcoming events.

The last ACT for this school year is June 13th and the regular registration deadline is May 8th.

Prom tickets are on sale in the Media Center during lunch and after school for $70. Now cash only.
